Hi. My name is Janell Birmingham Brown. I earned a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Psychology at Northwestern State University and a Master's of Arts in Counseling and Guidance at Louisiana Tech University. I have been Licensed as a Professional Counselor in the state of Louisiana since 2003. I began my educational journey to be a therapist when I, myself began the healing journey of trauma in my own life. It has been some of the of most satisfying and fulfilling times to assist others now in their own healing journey. I can help a client process faulty thinking about themselves and learn to love and be kind to oneself. I help others to process trauma (sexual assault, physical violence, child abuse, catastrophes) from past or present and learn how to cope as well as flourish once again. I join clients in their journey of anxiety, depression, abuse and assist them in the journey of healing. I provide counseling to couples who are at the crossroads of trying to bring themselves together again or seeking guidance on how to end the relationship. Family therapy is another counseling service that I provide. I create a safe and neutral environment for families to come together and communicate their hurts and needs to each other as well as putting a plan together to mend the relationships.
